A FEEDER CONTAINS SIX ALUMINUM CONDUCTORS INSTALLED IN A PVC CONDUIT. TWO CONDUCTORS PER PHASE ARE PROTECTED BY A 400 AMP FUSE. WHAT SIZE ALUMINUM EQUIPMENT GROUNDING CONDUCTOR IS REQUIRED?

Look at Table 250.122 for 400 amps.

After you check 250.122 ... what size are the phase conductors ?

As per 250.122, size of an equipment grounding conductor for a 400 amp circuit is #1 Aluminum.
But the size of your phase conductors (unknown) may affect that.
250.122(B) might require an larger EGC if you phase conductors are oversized.
