We are thinking of using these junctions to feed some temporary loads. They are rated for submersible use and would fit nicely in our manholes. This would be on a 13.8kv distribution system. Any comment would be appreciated.

Elastimold makes excellent products - the joints you mention are commonly used for permanent installations.
You need to ensure that the person doing the terminations is experienced with the combination of joint and cable used. Most good MV Contractors have people that do terminations every day of the week - that's who you want - not somebody that does 3 a year.

Read NFPA 70E VERY carefuly and decide if you can operate these safely.

Yeah I agree with you, we use a certified cable splicer from the LU. We have some temporary feeds that will go away after construction is complete and then the larger permenant cables can be terminated and connected to the junction. These connections will be submerged at some point and remain that way because we have a high water table. I am hopeful that it lives up to it's submersible rating! Thanks db

The cable that feeds the junction will be switched from an S&C PMH-10, the cable can then be tested and grounded in the S&C gear.
