I recently purchased a piece of equipment from South America. The electric motor is 380v Delta/440v Delta. What to i need to change, if any, so that it runs on our 480v system underground?

Nothing. Should be fine. Most likely that rating is 380V 50Hz or 440V 60Hz. the nameplate likely states two different speeds based on the frequency, so it will spin at the faster speed.
