You are correct, the ICC review test does state that it references the IBC, but when I took it, it didn't have any questions from it. I beleive that what they would ask, should they referene the IBC, would be about emergancy lighting and exit lighting.
Bryan: I didn't use any particular study guide. The plan review test was more difficult because there was more math, and more odd-ball code questions. There were a couple of fault current calculations to do to compare with the AIC ratings spec'd on the equipment. I honestly think that you would do fine though Bryan. If you have experience even reading plans you'll be OK. They did use a few symbols that I wasn't familiar with, like for floor boxes, and some other things.
