In each commercial building and each commercial occupancy accessible to pedestrians shall be provided with at least one outlet in an accessible location at each entrance to each tenant space for sign or outline lighting system use. With at least a 20amp branch circuit. Access from hallways and corridors does not count.

Where does most electricians locate this outlet, if they even install one.

Over the front door is common, stubbed into a J box, sometimes on the front wall up high.

Where do signs go in comercial occupancies? Over the door or canopy above the door is where I try to locate this outlet. Should be on the print unless you are doing a design and build. If you are working on a project a phone call to the sign contractor will probably be a win win situation for both parties.
