when running primary wire for 277 volt transformers is there specific colored wire that has to be used or can you run the same as 120 volt using black/white/ and green

Re: electric signs

"Try Brown or orange or yellow with white and green. Standard 480/277 volt colors"
B-O-Y may Standard but not required by the NEC, Green and white or gray are. However what ever color you use you must post on the branch circuit panelboard, see sections 210.5 and 215.12 in the 2005 NEC.

Re: electric signs

What is the color configueration on the rest of the job? You should try to fallow same. If this is a complete new job & you have more than one nominal voltage under Art.210.4(D) you need to label @ the panels phase & color ie.Brown Orange Yellow 277/480 Black Red Blue 120/208.
