Should the raceway passing through a witches hat be seal-tite or rigid conduit? For many years I have seen seal-tite used. My boss stated it would rot and rigid should always be used. Seal-tite is sunlight-resistant, so I don't see what the problem is.

As far as the NEC or the craftsmanship?

Assuming you do not exceed 360 degrees of bend, support it as required and comply with the rest of the NEC than IMO the NEC does not prohibit running LFMC out of a witches hat.

witches hat

witches hat

I've never heard of the term "witches hat ", please someone explain. How bout good ole Ga. terms

if it's going to an RTU or a fan, the flexibility of the liquitite will help reduce noise transmission. If it's installed carefully, I think the life is comparable to ridgid.

I have not found LFMC to be as durable as RMC.

The real problem I have is now you are transferring stress / vibration into the 'hat' which will likely cause leaks later on.

IMO RMC should be used up through the roof and hat, once above the hat than change to LFMC if there are vibration issues
