For hot oil systems, specifically, class IIIB liquids with high flash points, is electrical area classification typically required for valves, pumps, etc.? NFPA 497 4.2.7.3 states"A Class IIIB liquid will cool below its flash point very quickly when released. Therefore, area classification is SELDOM needed". When would it be needed, any advice here is greatly appreciated!

I probably never would. However, if you are seriously concerned, compare the product's MSDS flash point and with the local high ambient.
