questions

#1-A 1500 kVa three phase transformer has a secondary voltage of 480/277. What is the secondary full load amperage?

#2-What is the voltage drop for a #8 copper wire at 120V, 215ft one way and load of 39 amps?

I just need help with the formulas and how to figure it out I am currently studying for my NCCER industrial electrician just having some problems with a few questions.

We don't provide homework answers for students. Your studying may not be class work, but the principle is the same. And I feel providing you with the formulas you are requesting is no different.

Please tell us how you see the problems and show us in some manner what you believe the solution is.

I'll give you a clue for each problem...

1. A "kVA" value is the volts times the amperes times the multiplier (k for kilo-, which is 1000x). Be aware this is a three phase system so there is more to it than what the preceding by itself would lead you to believe.

2. A simple rule to remember with respect to voltage drop is that even ohm's law applies to this part of the circuit. In light of that statement, see Chapter 9 Table 8 or 9
