Electrical Code in Texas

Can anybody explain what electrical code applies in the State of Texas, and if the state enforces this code as opposed to local AHJ?

Also, who would be the typical AHJ for a petro-chem facility in Texas?

Texas is under the 2005 NEC until September when 2008 NEC will go into effect.
This does not apply in individual municipalities, they are all on different code cycles with local amendments. Be sure and check with each inspection office.

All inspections are by local AHJ. No permits or inspections outside of city limits, that I am aware of. State will issue cease and desist orders if anyone working without a license, etc. is reported to them.
