I was approached by an architect about doing my own commercial power distribution (swgr/swbrd/pv) commissioning. The knowledge is there just not the process. Any tips that can help me possibly in this new endeavor?

Thx

That is a specialized area. NETA may have some documents, (interNational Electrical Testing Association)

Very specialized indeed and not to mention the test equipment you will need to perform the acceptance tests, i.e. Megger, Hi-pot, breaker high current test set, xformer turns ratio test set, protective relay test sets, etc, etc. Make sure your liability insurance is up to date.
If you are really serious about it (and young enough) I would first go to work for a field service testing co. whether manufacturer related or independent to learn "the ropes."
