electrical conduit on top of pool concrete walkway

MY customer is having a motorized pool cover installed and wants me to run my conduit from a trench in ground then on top of the concrete over to the cover motor key pad switch which will be 3 feet from the water's edge. He knows this will be a trip hazard, as this is the only path around the pool. Any restriction on this ? Thank you !
 
The only restriction I can think of is protection from damage. Other than that this is a terrible idea. Salt, chlorine or whatever may be another issue. I would not do this install.
 
Agreed. How far from the edge of the concrete? I would explore either notching and patching the concrete or even digging under it and popping up through it.

clarify please - is this just a conduit to a control keypad or is it the main supply to the pool cover
