Electrical contact paste

I have some contactors that after a few years in operation are developing hot spots at the connect points. We use copper wire and the cables are sized appropriately. Has anyone had good luck with the use of conductive paste on these connections? Does the NEC address the use of the paste?

Re: Electrical contact paste

I think you may be trying to solve a problem that does not exist.

How hot is hot? Typically the concern is not with the contact it self but rather the wire termination. UL lists NEMA devices, for use with 60C wire, as 50C at the terminals. They list IEC devices as 65C at the terminals for use with 75C wire.
