Electrical Contractors license

Hello all.

I'm currently working in the field as an electrician. I am licensed in NJ but want to get a license in another state. Problem is I got hurt recently and will not have enough time to count this year as "one full year" but rather a half year. Long story short if I don't get this year in I will have to wait several more b/c of broken time.

Here's my thought. If I activate my NJ license and put myself on a payroll at miniumum wage and work "officially" on the books an extra 200 hours this year I think it will count towards my time.

I don't know the best way to do this though. Corporation, sole proprietor? I'm thinking if I go as a corporation and make myself owner and employee I could count that towards my time.

Any advice on this?

So you want to be "self employed" so that your time counts as "working" even though you not really working. Well, it may or may not work depending on who's checking in that other state. In your scenario I would go with the cheapest form of business. My guess is that's a sole proprietorship.

Yes Infinity I guess that kind of came out wrong.

My intention is to work but my priority is to gather hours rather than money. It's weird but I need to make up the hours I lost due to injury this year to make this year a full working year.
