My company has got to a place where I need to hire someone to take on the estimating for me. Mostly I do multi-family homes, light commercial, and custom homes. I have no problem bidding homes, but I do it the old pen and paper way. On the commercial side of bidding my skills are not to par. I need to find some software where I can bid, design draw plans, and etc that can help me. What should I look for in software. What software do you or your company use? I was wondering what some estimators do for companies. What skills should I look for in an estimating employee? Thanks for the input!
