I'm starting a new contractor business and need help estimating for new residental construction electrical. Price per device, price per sq. ft.?

This is all going to depend on the area that you live and how much you want to pay yourself. Custom, tract or spec homes? The guys that do it all the time are going to be very competitive. I used price/opening when I bid them. We don't do very many now because the profit margin is so low. Good luck.

I price per unit. Certain dollar amount for standard receptacles, switches, lighiting outlets. Every other item has a unit price. Range receptacle, dryer receptacle, dishwasher, disposal, heating system, AC, outdoor receptacle, service, etc. Typical invoice for a regular builder is 2-3 pages. For custom homes, invoices are more detailed and will be 8 -10 pages.
