Any recommendation how to become an electrical estimator?
Any education required for this type of job? One of my engineer friends said
they can make decent money but won't have much headache like an engineer job.
Is it true?

You haven't gotten any of the bids lately and we have to lay off ...

You will need a scale to weigh the print, also a wheel with numbers and some darts.

LOL!

My favorite line from my estimator once:

"Good news is we got the job for $150,000. Bad news is the next 3 bidders were all around $225,000, and there was a bid bond..."

Yep, no pressure...

I think that is the way most of us get there. Not that it is the "right" way. It is a hard thing to teach. You can teach the fundamentals, but the details are mostly gut.
