While commissioning a new nanoscale research facility it was discovered that there was to high of a electrical magnetic field with in the building. Special care was taken during the design of this building to limit the amount of field generated from normal every day activities. Upon further investigation of the problem we found that the EMF was being transmitted through out the building on the ground system originating at the CATV system. This research lab is located on a major university and is interconnected with the rest of campus. After disconnecting and disassembling the CATV feeder we found that the readings were coming from the foil shield of the coaxial cable. Is there any FPN that would allow us to ground this system outside the building and not have it bonded to the building grounding system or does any one know of a isolating device that would essentially clean a dirty field from the wire?
