Electrical maintenance agency as ESCO

Is regular electrical maintenance agency is engaged anywhere as ESCO (Energy service company)? If so, what are the benefits such as reduction in electricity consumption etc.,? Thanks.

Thanks. I know ESCO as a specialized agency. But my question is whether, at least, some of the energy saving functions of ESCO are taken over by any regular electrical maintenance contractor and agreement entered accordingly with the user.

Well here that would depend of any given state, or even county w/in any given state Sahib

Hit and miss in various places. SOME consulting engineering firms take this on, SOME utilities offer this service, SOME large contractors and System Intergrators, both Electrical and HVAC, offer it, SOME equipment manufactures offer it as a service contract aspect of their business, etc etc etc.

Almost nobody uses the term ESCO however, a bunch of scam artists in the 90s made people here wary of that term. So virtually every provider has their own terminology for it now. One common term used in that industry though is for a staff person to be a CEM, Certified Energy Manager, although unfortunately that is contextual now too because CEM has multiple meanings.

Thanks. If possible, a copy of such contract agreement ? I think I could incorporate relevant points from it in our draft electrical maintenance specifications for energy saving by prospective contractor.
