SKM is more reasonably priced than "Powerworld", "ETAP", or "EDSA". At least it was when I got pricing. Everything else was twice the price of SKM.

Steve, you may want to evaluate VOLTS from Dolphins Software. You can obtain a free download from their web site.

VOLTS is a full featured program allowing for the automatic development of one line riser diagrams.

I am experienced user of VOLTS and recently completed the electrical design of two ball fields, complete with panel schedules, load summary reports, voltage drop analysis, conductor and raceway sizing and a one line riser diagram in less than 12 minutes.

Does anybody know of any reliable Electrical One-Line Diagram Programs out there ????

What do you want it to do? Short circuit studies? Load flow studies? Motor starting? Just drafting? All of the above?

I'll add easypower.com to the list of SC programs...

Sparkie:

I meant to say Easypower instead of Powerworld. I always get the two mixed up. Powerworld is more for utility companies.

ACvolts:

$4000 for the enterprise edition of Volts isn't cheaper than SKM. But like Sparkie said, it all depends on what you want to do. Volts does have lower priced options. But those won't do the arc flash and breaker coordination stuff SKW can do.

We have an use SKM, ETAP, and EDSA. All are powerful tools, and client dependent. By default we use ETAP if the client doesn't have preference, but we also do only power generation projects. It seems SKM is more widely used with Institutional, education, and commercial projects. EDSa is predominantly utility. Easypower has received some recognition, but not sure what it can do.
