Electrical Panel and/or Breaker Maintenance

Does the NEC have a requirement for any type of maintenance that should be performed on 480 volt panels or switchgear or specific types of circuit breakers? NFPA 70? ANSI? If so can someone please direct me to the specific code passages?
I am a Facility Manager for several Data Centers in the NY metro area and am trying to institute some best practices to assure our safe and reliable operation.
 
70B has some basic stuff but when you are talking data centers it is a whole different level. We do a lot of data center PM's on thier switchgear and use predictive maintenence technoligies such as Partial Discharge surveys (MV switchgear, cables, and transformers) and Magnetron Atmospheric Condition Assesment (For VCB's).

For LV switchgear we often install IR monitors that constantly monitor failure points and send an alarm through SCADA or Ethernet when a hot spot occurs (From various causes that can predict failures).

On the rare chance you get a shutdown you would want to follow ANSI/NETA maintenence testing and inspection procedures. I honestly am suprised you even have to ask this question in your position, data centers are usually really up to date on this stuff, I highly recommend you attend the Powertest conference in Dallas next month, the entire conference focuses on exactly what you are asking about. Hope to see you there, we rented out Cowboys stadium for our little reception party.
