What does the code say about having an electrical panel box in a bathroom. I am an electrical inspector and i came across a commercial building with a electrical panel in the bathroom. My instincts tell me fail but i want reference from the code.
240.24(E) only applies to dwellings so this would not be applicable in a commercial occupancy. As Volta stated the service disconnect is not permitted in bathrooms. If this is not a service but merely a sub-panel then it is permitted to be installed in a commercial bathroom.
Panels were permitted in all bathrooms up until the '93 NEC. If the installation is older, it most likely was a permitted installation.
If new, follow the current code which has been posted.
