Is Aluminium wire permitted for electrical power distribution in residences and buildings such as churches and schools?

Yes! What is your concern or actual reason for asking?

Re: electrical power distribution

Mike Holt just sent out a newsletter regarding testing on Al conductors and its advantages. I feel larger sizes of Al are acceptable- I wouldn't use any conductor smaller than 2 AWG, and would use compression connectors or pin adapters. If underground, run in PVC and use XHHW even in the conduit. I have seen direct bury al. fail in 2 weeks due a nick on the jacket.
