Well, so far I've fallen off the wagon. I resolved to make more money, but as to date this year, I have only garnered one check for $300.

Of course, there's 51 more weeks to go.

Annoy as many people as possible with sarcastic pointless comments.

Seriously I'd say my resolution is pretty simple. When the dust settles, and let's hope it is soon, to be one of the few left standing.

Also to get my truck painted. :D

Mucho scratches courtesy of driving through ice storm debris.

Nope have looked in the paper and no jobs unless it is a temp service some places say there hiring but no luck yet.:smile:

This should be in the "You know its really slow when..." thread. I'm originally from Houston so I know there has got to be work for you there somewhere. All the Ike stuff is cleaned up, huh? Hang in there, partner. Someone in Galveston County is getting an insurance check for some electrical work.

No free estimates, dont take crap from GC's that lie, tell my accountant he needs to get a little more creative or he can hit the bricks, and dont give freebees to anymore old ladys or single moms.

1- Stop giving free answers to HO's then never getting the call back - I'm too nice sometimes I'm a step away from drawing a how-to picture for them.
2- New work truck for myself, maybe a F-250 with the bins built into the truck bed.
3- Make enough to pay for new truck.
4- Win more than 1 out of 20 bids. I know it's tough when there's 10 electricians in a bidding war for a 3 bedroom dormer.

I'd like to get training on becoming a certified Electrical Fire Investigator. Not sure if just being a Master and Contractor is enough of a prerequisite. Anybody have info about that?

Sounds like your resolutions are a lot like mine. Continued education is on the list for me. I got into this trade in 1979. Seems like you can always learn more!! That is what I enjoy about it! I need to learn more on the business side. Being a "salesman"!
