I am looking for surge protection for an automatic transfer switch. The service wires come from the meterbase straight to the transfer switch. Is there a surge protection device or anything that could protect it? There are no breaker spaces in the transfer switch. There are no breaker spaces in the meterbase of course.

Depending upon your PoCo's rules for their meters, they my provide, or have a list of approved' surge protective devices that can be mounted at the meter base.
