Can you guys suggest ways to efficiently manage a 20' or 40' container that stores electrical material (conduits, fittings, wires, receptacles, light fixtures, etc)? With different types and sizes of installation, it can get very messy over the project's duration, and I am looking for efficient ways to manage it to improve productivity.

We build racks on the walls for conduit, large roll around shelving units for material storage, filing cabinets for small material and things like hole saws, drill bits, sawzall blades, etc. We'll also build a charging station typically out of plywood for 15-20 battery chargers. IMO the most important thing is light. We either run a continuous row of LED strip lights down the center or use several 100W LED construction lights about every 8'.

We do the same thing. Except we keep conduit outside on a conduit tree or just on pallets to save space. As for most suppliers keep their conduit outside. Unless u r worried about theft. One of the main things is to have your crew keep it organized and let u know before u run out of an item. Keep a clipboard paper & pen available for parts lists. If u have a large crew of guys it helps if they write their name next to the parts on the list. That way when they arrive u know who to give them to. It's so nice and way more efficient to have organized parts.
