Electricity in water

Hi to everyone again, Im happy to be back and listen to everyones "genius" mind . Im just curious about water and electrcity because we know that these two are not good partners.Can I have a brief explanation of principles involved on how an electrical device, equipment, fixtures is operating under water? (e.g. swimming pool, aquariums,display fountains,etc..)What is the safety precautions involve in the Installation? Thanks and God Bless!!!

It is a misconception that water and electricity is any more dangerous than electricty by itself. Water alone is actually a good insulator, its the mineral content particles of dust that makes water conductive.

Manufacturers of suberged and underwater equiment simply insulate the components from the water. Typical safety precautions include double-insulating of cords and connections, and GFCI protection. :)
