electro magnetic hazard

Hi, I have a ten year old home in Weston,Fl . My childrens bedrooms are on
the otherside of the 300 amp main. Is there any hazards from emf or am
I worrying unnecessarly ? Joe W

Sleep well, I think that any EMF's that may be at the panel will not be present in the room behind it. If you are anxious you can buy a fairly cheap gaussmeter from Radio Shack and check the EMF level of all the rooms in the house. Bad wiring methods can lead to high emf's.

This is, I believe, a technical issue for which there is no overriding, solid evidence proving that EMF is, or is not, a health hazzard. So all I can offer is my opinion, and that is that you are worrying unnecessarily. Electricity has been around for quite a while now. If there were any real danger to being in the same room as a moving electron, I think it would have shown itself long ago.

Well I can think of one possible effect: if what my dad says is true and my generation's getting dumber and dumber I'd like to present my theory blaming it on EMF rather than being a bunch of lazy punks!

nothing to worry about, I have measured EMF levels beside an energized 83 MVA transformer (I was in a substation) and the levels I measured are way below the "standard" 833 milligauss as set by the World health Organization

Improperly wired systems can give higer readings but you would have to stick your head between the conductors. The field drops off pretty quickly with distance.

Do enough research on the internet and you will be convinced that electricity along with _(fill in the blank)_ should be banned.

Remember...conception is the leading cause of death.

I am baffled by the 833 milligauss standard. There are some organizations that claim 4 milligauss or higher can cause cancer.
