I have a fourteen floor apartment building with two dhw lines coming from two different hot water makers. One of the lines is popping pin holes like crazy. I have 1.1vdc on the one popping holes. I cannot find a bond going back to the mdp and or first means of disconnect. I am assuming that somewhere in this system I have some form of galvanic action occurring. The ahj stated that it has to be bonded. Several articles that I have read indicate that one should go to a separate ground rod to Bond these pipes. I really am against that for fear of creating a parallel grounding situation. Common Sense dictates to me to go back to my first means of disconnect and size the bond per article 250. Should I hit all of the risers with this Bond to make sure I have an equal potential? Any input would be appreciated and thank you in advance.
