Hi, I am looking to approximate the load of an existing 600A (480V) panelboard that has (7)branch circuit breakers. (5) of these each feed a single elevator and (2) of the branch OCPD each feed (2) elevators. Can I apply the Feeder demand factor table (620.14) to the feeder of this panelboard that effectively is feeding (9) elevators? 620.13(D) seems to contradict this, but I suspect it is a misunderstanding on my part of what portions of the informational note figure 620.13 are actually applicable to this assessment. Looking forward to learn.

After you've used the rules of 620.13 to calculate the required ampacities for each elevator or pair of elevators, you can apply the demand factors of 620.14, first to the pairs, then to the overall feeder. I do not recommend you use the diversified currents from the pairs in your summation for the 9-motor feeder, only for the feeders going to the pairs.

OK thank you. See below image of panel board in question (just as a note, this panel was verified to be 600A, the 400A is incorrect). For clarification, at the main feeder (marked in red) of this panel board, we can apply demand factor based on (9)downstream elevator loads. For simplicity sake let's use 52 FLA for each elevator's connected load => The feeder demand of this panel is (9 x 52) x 0.73 = ~342A?
