I haven't done alot of elevators. This particular one is a Traction Power unit in a 10 story building. These are its electrical requirement. And I have multiple questions on this thing:
1. What is the R in 60R for the Drive's horsepower.
2. If the elevator motor is 60HP, how can it be that the drive amps are only 35. Then there is running amps of 39 with Max upward acceleration of 77.4. What I don't see but I have asked for is a Recommended OCPD. Should that be obvious from this information. Is an 80A feeder required for this. That seems really high.

It's also possible that the "R" in 60R might refer to a regenerative drive with a 60 HP rating. It's just that in the table on pg. 31 of the document linked above, all of the cases with the "R" are clearly using gear reduction whereas the ones without the "R" are not. In any case the 35A is likely to be with a balanced load as indicated in the document linked above.

Recently, for the first time, I sized the feeder and OCPD for single elevator, see bellow/attached report from manufacturer. 133.9Amp +25% = 167Amp -> OCPD = 175AMP, 2/0 wires. I did not understand why manufacturer recommended disconnect size 66.3Amp ~50% of accelerating FLA.

I am curios how you sized the generator for your elevator, can you share you steps?Elevator.JPG
