The elevator controller manual should tell you. The controller is more involved than just looking at motor name plate.

Other than manufactures requirements I was looking for specific NEC text - if any.

You are feeding a motor controller, not a stand alone motor. Therefore 110.3(B) will supersede any 430 art.
