Is it switched and or dimmed in the same way the "normal" ones are?

Will the fixture show up with the EM ballast pre-installed and you will only have to run a un-switched leg to the charging / sensing circuit?

Does the charging LED need to be separately mounted?

Generally, the answer is yes, it takes more to install the EM fixture.

Unswitched.
Will show up with em ballast installed.
Usually charging LED is part of light.
