Right here.
NFPA 101 only requires that it be "readily visible". I think there was something in the IBC, but it was equally vague if I'm not mistaken.

Tht's what i thought to but the G.C. seem's to remember something of a certain height. Unless the fire marshall has a say, i don't remember. That's why i was checking.

He may be thinking of heights being specified on the prints.

I think there's a min and max height for the horn/strobe units in the ADA for the fire alarm. Maybe that's what he's thinking about? You'll see exit signs at various, and legal, heights. They might be right above the door frame in an office building, or hanging from chain 15 feet off the deck in a warehouse.

Is there anywhere in the code for Em/Exit signs have to be a certain height above the door's or on the walls? I guess what i am asking is any specific height by code?

Means of egress illumination is determined not by the height above a door, or on a wall or hanging from a ceiling, but rather the illumination level. The MOE illumination level is not permitted to fall below 1 foot-candle (11 lux) at the floor level. There are exceptions to this for theatres, etc. See the IBC at Section 1006. :)

It's not scpecd. out on the drawings. I know thw horn strobes are at a set height, but thank,s for the info there. Just making sure i wasn,t missing anything.

Compliance with lighting levels along the MOE is done at the final walk-thru in many areas. ANSI/NFPA 101 is used. Also UL 924.
