Mr Holt
I am in the process of renovating a college dorm.
Nearly all the existing branch conduit is poured in the slab.
Somewhere over the years a 30 kw generator, automatic transfer switch and 2 panels were added .
The branch circuits feeding the exit light and night light circuits were pulled in the same conduit as the normal power circuits.
There are no battery back up EM lights so the night light serves as the emergency lighting.
My question to you, is this system considered a Emergency System or a Legally Required Stand By System?
Other than as required by Art 517, how can you tell where an EM system is required or a LRSS?
Thanks
