The building I work in has Emergency Battery lights but recently a generator was installed that feeds the EM lighting. My question is Life Safety NFPA101(2000) edition 7.9.3 requires testing every 30 days for 30 seconds and annually for 1.5 hours. Does the installation of the generator affect or change these requirements. Since I am refering to the 2000 edition of Life Safety have these requirements changed or are there any other NFPA documents that have articles pertaining to this situation. Confused in Chicago.

Read article 700.4 of the NEC and the testing sections of NFPA 110.
