Hi, we have 6x6 and 12x12 JBs nippled into UL924 bypass relays for emergency lighting. The JBs are also used as splice points to run to all of the other relays and fixtures in the area. There are 6-8x MC to each JB.

Someone express concern that this doesn't meet the intent of 700.10(B)(1)-(5) which requires separation of emergency system from normal. Basically each JB contains both emergency and normal power for more than just the attached bypass relay.

700.10(B)(4) DOES allow emergency & normal branch circuits to be shared in "common junction boxes", which makes sense for a 4 square. But larger boxes? Could you have a 24x24 box and call it a JB? It seems like a gray area so curious about others experience. Ever run into AHU issues with this?
