Regarding selective coordination and emergency generator Does UL2200 require an output over current device? Could this device be a molded case switch? If the engine generator in the controller package contains protective relaying to protect the generators damage curve could you provide a molded case switch at the generator output, route you conductors (via underground duct bank) into a switchboard with a main circuit breaker? Then you would have the protective relaying in the generator protecting the generator the molded case switch for a disconnect at the generator and a mcb in the switchboard. I was told that UL2200 listing requires the output breaker to be sized with overcurrent protection between 100 ? 125%. I do not have a copy of the UL standard and was wondering if anyone else has come across this or knows if this is true?
