It just gets into your local Building Code faster than the NEC describing the application.

I'd call the Local AHJ, if it's a state structure you could probably find it on line, if all else fails you can call your Local Fire Marshall.

700 gives a good over view of what might be dealing with.
IV 700.15 tell of a little of the requirements of the wiring.


What your requirements might be could just be about anything because of the nature of the class of structure, type of construction and its use, etc...

What the General Rule of thumb is, a measureable 1 ft candle at your feet.
