So, NFPA 101 2006 7.8.1.3(1) states that: During conditions of stair use, the minimum illumination for new stairs shall be at least 10 footcandles.
If a handicap ramp is part of the "exit discharge" to a "public way" does it fall under this requirement, or does this fall under paragraph (2) which is at least 1 footcandle, measured at the floor, for floors and walking surfaces, other than new stairs.
