1.)Is an emergency light battery replaceable? If so, what is the span of time( e.g. months, years,)to replace?
2.) What is the purpose of static Relay to a Genset?
3) What seems to be the trouble if an AHU Main breaker is tripping off everytime we turn on the Fan motor for condenser #2? ( Note: AHU has a 10TR)

Please keep in mind when you post we are not familar with your systems or jargon. The first rule of technial writing is audience analysis, meaning who is reading this and what level of understanding do they have.
Otherwise IMO we may not understand the AHJ's requirement for a GEC in NPFA 70.
Do you see what I mean?

Re: Emergency Light

To your first question - yes. I replaced several of them Saturday. Where I work we use generally higher end units. I recently inquired into battery life for some of these units and was told 5 to 10 years depending on the battery type.

Re: Emergency Light

yes replacable but they are costly and if light is more than 5 years old might be smarter to replace.
As to the breaker i would question the motor it self or wiring shorting out.Thats a issue that needs a service tech

Re: Emergency Light

That's true for the little cheapo light commercial units. It's a little different for industrial units, especially ones in classified areas.

Re: Emergency Light

Question #2 - Static Relay on Gen set? Maybe you mean a solid state protecive relay, (I've heard them called static - as opposed to the electro-mechanical kind with rotating disks.)

A generator protective relay may provide many types of protection to the genset: overcurrent, short circuit, ground fault, under/over voltage, under/over frequency, unbalanced load, overtemperature, reverse power, etc, etc. All depends on what the engineer or genset supplier thought was necessary for that particular application.
