IS THERE A REQUIREMENT FOR EMERGENCY BATTERY POWER LIGHTING TO THE
FOLLOWING:
SURGERY O.R.'s WHICH USE NON-FLAMABLE GAS,
HEART CATH ROOMS AND SPECIAL PROCEDURE ROOMS ?
I'VE BEEN TOLD THAT NFPA 99 SECTION 4.4.2.2.2.3(1) AND NFPA 99 SECTION
13.4.1.2.6.1(E)
AND NFPA 70,SECTION 700.12(E)REQUIRES.
NEC 700.12(E)TALKS ABOUT FUEL CELL SYSTEMS.
WE HAVE EMERGENCY POWERED GENERATOR PROVIDING POWER TO THESE AREAS NOW.
AFTER 10 SECONDS THE AREAS WILL HAVE EMERGENCY POWER AND LIGHTS.

Re: Emergency Lightd

Look at 517.63 of the 2002 NEC. In the 2002 NEC, 700.12(E) talks about unit equipment which are basically emergency light fixtures with a battery.

Please turn off the ALL CAPS feature. It makes the post more difficult to read. It is also considered impolite, as though you were SHOUTING at us.
