Recently did a reno project for a single floor of a 5 story building. The building has an emergency generator but it's very old and heavily loaded and replacing it was not in the cards. We provided EBU's on that floor instead. So now the building has a mixed bag in terms of how emergency lighting is handled; most of the building is via emergency circuits fed via the generator, then there is our floor with the EBU's.

Is this in any way a problem from a code standpoint. i.e. are we compelled anywhere to do it one way or the other but not have a mix such as we will here?

Thanks,

Mike

The second sentence of 700.12 says that the power supply shall be "one or more of the types . . . ." Your installation complies with that statement.
