Hello everyone,
I was told by a code reviewer that we need to comply with NEC section 700.16 (Emergency Illumination) where it says:
"Emergency lighting systems shall be designed and installed so that the failure of any individual lighting element, such as the burning out of a lamp, cannot leave in total darkness any space that requires emergency illumination".
"Exception: Alternative means that ensure that the emergency lighting illumination level is maintained shall be permitted"
My question, how we are to comply with this requirement if we are using LED lights? will dual driver or even emergency battery pack within fixture located at exit doors will suffice this requirement?
I believe the "Exception" above might require us to have two emergency lights at adjacent location to get the light level required.
Thanks,
