Emergency Lighting

Does emergency lighting designated as "emergency lighting" for stairwells or egress have to have battery backup or is being connected to a generator panel circuit good enough to satisfy code?

If your in California:
Hi-Rises have to be seperate luminaires, seperate circuits and on generator, no battery packs.

You have to have a seperate emergency ATS and only emergency loads on that system.

Emergency loads are designated in the California Building Code.

In minnesota a generator is fine. I beleive it can take no longer then 10 seconds to switch over but on tests we did not see any interruption

Loss control specialist

I am curious. What is a Loss control specialist. If I take you to Vegas with me will you control my losses? I'd rather take a gain control specialist.

What is a lost control Specialist?

A lost control specilaist. I work in the Risk Managment end of things. I do facility and grounds inspections specific to the county functions, jails, highway, parks, social service, license centers, libraries, on NEC, Fire, safety, etc.. I also do employee safety training, write policies, investigate accidents and incidents. Kind of a OSHA inspector but I just do internal county facilities and properties. I'm the bad guy.

I can get you to gain in vegas DON"T GO. Money gained.

Nah, that's just preventing loss. Good advice though. Do you work for a particular county or many counties, whole state? What counties?

Bad guy: I doubt it. If you are doing what your being paid to do, you are doing an important job.

Minnesota the County of Anoka. I try to save the tax payers money. I really like the job. I get to deal with a lot of variety. Good co-workers.
