I am a plant engineer for a food company with plants located across the company. One of our facilities is located in Philadelphia and has been cited by city inspectors as needing additional emergency lighting in the egress areas of the plant.
I am not aware of Philadelphia's life safety code is respect to emergency lighting requirements.
Can anyone enlighten me as to the city's requirements for emergency lighting that pertains to the egress area's.
Do we have to provide dedicated circuits for the EBU's and the Exit Lights?
Can we tap into a local branch lighting circuit?
Can we tap into a receptacle circuit and run surface raceway from the receptacle to an emergency light above?
Do we have to provide two remote emergency heads for outdoor walkway
area's.
Any help will be appreciated and if there is a site that specifically is dedicated to Philadelphia's requirements could you send me the link?
I tried to access their codes but the info was not detailed enough.
