Emergency load & Normal power circuits, same raceway?

I have a normal power circuit that feeds 3 transfer switches and 3 loads. I'm looking for clarification on 700.9 (B)

I can separate the generator wiring to the xfr switches, but am I able to have the EM loads and Normal power in the same trough between the normal feed and the xfr switch?

I want to put a trough above the feeds and go over top of xfr switches, then also bring the loads supplied off the xfr switch into that trough. The generator feeds will be separate hitting the bottom of the xfr switches

Thanks for your help!

If I understand your question correctly, it shouldn't be a problem since the loads are all normal until they leave the transfer switch. May be helpful to provide a sketch.

To clarify, 700.10(B) in the 2011 code says that wiring from an emergency source shall be kept separate of all other wiring.

That includes all the wiring on the load side of the ATS, because it is still wiring "from an emergency source", even though it doesn't come straight from the generator.

And to clarify further, load types may be mixed in the transfer switch (duh!) but not in a trough under it. Separate but equal entrances.

To clarify some more, those loads are considered emergency even when under normal power, correct?

Thanks everyone. I agree, but just wasn't sure. Can EM loads from 2 different ATS'S be in the same raceway?
