Good day fellas. I pretty much learned by means of word of mouth that emergency and normal lighting circuits should not be combined. I can't find a referrence in the NEC. Does someone know a referrence in NEC. Also, if the referrence is found elsewhere (NFPA 72 or NFPA 101) I would appreciate being pointed in the right direction.

The emergency fixtures are supported by standby generation. The client is Boeing plant engineering and I believe they have some pretty sizable generation on-site with load shedding, etc. In any case, I always show seperate raceways on the dwgs, but I had a plant manager ask me if it's necessary per code or is it in the Boeing facility specs. I somehow missed it while looking for it (probably cause I'm still young and dumb, but also maybe because I'm exhausted from studying - I'm gonno be taking the FE/EIT here in CA this weekend) and thought I ask. I've read through the NEC a couple of times, but in most cases I find that I don't remember details about the sections unless I had to deal with it on an actual project.
