Emergency panels

Hi,

My supervisor is asking me about if a dedicated electrical space is required for emergency panels.

My understanding is that they can be located anywhere within the building, and I'm wondering if there is a code section that mandates dedicating space for those emergency equipment.

NFPA 110 has the requirement under certain conditions.

What is an Emergency Panel? Is it a panelboard or some other control panel? What it is/does, determines if it needs 110.26 related clearances.
