Emergency wall pack fixtures

In NYC, does anyone know if emergency wall pack fixtures ("bug eyes") are required to have a NYC approval? I'm not sure if this is a requirement to have some type of NYC listing but I can't imagine what would would be different about it.

I think the NYC approved refers to the 8" exit sign letters compared to 6" exit sign letters. But, for wall pack fixtures alone, would NYC approval still be required (if not doing the combo exit sign / EM wall pack fixture and only the EM wall pack fixture).

Everything to do with fire safety requires not just UL listing in NYC but NYC explicit approval as well. The old NYC approval was the "MEA" sticker, I don't recall the new agency in charge.
